Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand the Archicad Library concept
  • Create custom objects, doors, windows, curtain wall panels
  • Create and manage your own custom Archicad Library
  • Modify existing library parts to fit your needs
  • Find and manage third-party library parts

Target Audience

This course is suitable for BIM Authors, who are looking for improving their skills around creating custom Archicad Library Parts without being able to write code in GDL (Geometric Description Language) using only built-in Archicad functionalities, tips and tricks.

Time commitment

The course is structured into short videos which add up to approx. 2 hours in total. Some extra time is needed to do the exercise files and complete the Quiz.

Quizzes and Tests

You will have access to a related quiz and practical test upon completing the relevant content, and you will also have the opportunity to retake them before completing the course. To earn points towards your Archicad BIM Author Certification, achieve a minimum score of 60% on both the quizzes and practical tests and complete the satisfaction survey.

Software Requirements

The exercise file in this course have been created using the International language version of Archicad 26 which means that the work environment and some of the content may be different if you are using a different language version. To be able to follow along with the trainer, please make sure to download Archicad 26!

You can access the course materials for 365 days, counting from the first login to the course. This module is focusing on different types of library parts and overall library management in Archicad.

Creating Library Parts - Part 1

In this module you will learn how to create and use library parts as components of hierarchical elements.

Creating Library Parts - Part 2

In this module you will learn how to create versatile objects and fine-tune their handling with some simple GDL techniques in both 2D and 3D.

Element Types and Polygons

This module teaches you about different element types you can use for object creation what are their pros and cons.

Importing Files

In this module you will learn how to import different types of models as library parts into Archicad.

Library Part Maker

This module consists of a couple of examples of using the Library Part Maker tool to quickly create objects.
